Connect with Other People
A step toward the world means developing genuine relationships with people who view the world differently than you. Take a genuine interest in what is going on in their life. Offer a kind word. Spend more time listening to them rather than talking. Spend time in prayer asking God to help you affirm their humanity as one of His Children.
Ask God to reveal to you the people you love the least and then ask that he put you in situations where you will be required to love them. These are the people Jesus would go out of his way to love. When you see someone, or a group of people, and your jaw tightens, breath quickens, hands tighten, etc. - these might be nudges from the Holy Spirit that you need to take a step in their direction with Christ’s love in your heart. If you’re not ready to take a step in love, then spend time with God asking that he change your heart.
