Grow Groups
Groups of 10-15 committed to meeting together regularly to study scripture, pray together, and fellowship together. Typically meet weekly. Over time these groups develop deep relationships and begin to do life together and meet one another’s needs. This takes time and intentionality. We would love to help you start a group if you would like to host or co-host one. Email Ryan if you would like to be connected with a Grow Group - ryan@nodachurch.com
Bible Study Group
We currently have a Women’s Bible study on Wednesday nights and a Men’s Bible study on Thursday’s. If you would like to start a Bible study, we would be happy to help you get going with curriculum and anything else you would need. We have also had online Bible studies in the past and a Bible study after worship. Click this link if you’d like to join a Bible Study.
Discipleship Group
At different points this year we will offer classes on discipleship to help get us back to the basics of following Jesus. We will follow the material from Scot McKnight’s work in “Following King Jesus.” Let us know if you would like to start a group study of this material on your own. Click this link if you’d like to find out more information about the Discipleship Groups.
These are committed groups of 2-3 people who share their highs and lows of the week, commit to reading passages of scripture to share together, and pray together. The aim of these groups is to establish rhythms of meeting together, inviting another person in, and then multiplying the group into new groups when you reach 4 for a time. Adapt the structure on this site to what works best for you. Click this link to download a handout for how to create a Spiritual Formation Group.
Spiritual Formation Groups
Ask one or two people to commit to reading the same scriptures together. Get together in some way once a week to share how these passages encouraged you, challenged you, and/or helped you grow to be more like Christ.
Ideas for meeting: Set a time for coffee or a meal once a week. Set a time for a weekly phone call and meet in person once a month. If you find it too hard to get on the same schedule, use a communication app to leave one another messages (video or voice) during the week about the reading and set a time to meet in person.
Scripture Partners
Prayer Partner
Find one or two people to commit to praying together once a week. Share prayer needs and pray for one another throughout the week. To take this relationship deeper, share how you showed or withheld God’s love to others during the week. Pray prayers of celebration when you acted in the way of Christ. Offer prayers of grace and encouragement when not acting in the way of Christ. Encourage one another through prayer to become more like Christ in all you do.
